Where do you work now? 

I was a Summer Clerk at Harmos Horton Lusk during the summer of 2019/2020. I started at Harmos Horton Lusk as a Law Clerk in February 2021.

What kind of work have you been involved in at Harmos Horton Lusk

Harmos Horton Lusk is a specialist corporate law firm. During my clerkship, I was involved in a wide range of corporate transactions including acquisitions, takeovers, governance advice, and capital raisings.

What do you enjoy most about working at Harmos Horton Lusk?   

The people and culture at Harmos Horton Lusk are what drew me to the firm. They are all very driven and hardworking but are also always up for a laugh or social event. It is inspiring to work with such accomplished lawyers on complex transactions. They provided me with meaningful and challenging work, and always made me feel fully supported.    

What has been the most challenging part of working at Harmos Horton Lusk?    

The work I was involved with at Harmos Horton Lusk was often times quite challenging. This made for a great learning experience as I was always given the opportunity to have a go, knowing that there was plenty of support available, and people were always willing to answer questions. The tasks sometimes felt daunting but having this safety net created a fast-paced learning environment.   

What is unique about working at Harmos Horton Lusk? 

The size of Harmos Horton Lusk meant that I got to know everyone well and could get involved in a wide variety of tasks. Due to Harmos Horton Lusk’s relatively flat structure, I found myself regularly working on tasks directly with Directors and Senior Associates.   

Did anything surprise you while working at Harmos Horton Lusk? 

I was most surprised by the scale of the deals that Harmos Horton Lusk advises on – not only in dollar figures, but also in complexity and international scope. I did not expect that I would get to be involved in such major deals so early on in my career. 

What has been your favourite experience at Harmos Horton Lusk? 

During my clerkship, I had the opportunity to work with every person at Harmos Horton Lusk in some capacity. This experience was great as I felt as though I got a complete view of what a career at Harmos Horton Lusk might look like. It also allowed me to see the different work styles and strategies of individuals, and I felt there was something to be learnt from everyone’s different approach. 

What is your advice to other students who would like to work with Harmos Horton Lusk?

Put yourself out there, give everything a go, and most importantly – be yourself! The culture is fundamental to Harmos Horton Lusk and they highly value individuality – so make sure you showcase it.
